“Our Company Succeeds Through the Success of our Clients”

Founded in 2000 by Ronald E. Heakins, Oakmont Investment Advisors, Inc. is a private wealth management and investment consulting firm. We manage investments for individuals, pension and profit sharing plans, business entities, trusts, and non-profit organizations on a fully discretionary basis.

Oakmont Investment Advisors, Inc. appeals to investors who wish to grow and protect their wealth, yet are looking

for a risk-adjusted return that might be higher than what can be obtained from conventional mutual funds. We build our client’s portfolio based on their individual investor profile, investment goals and objectives, and risk tolerance.

Our clients enjoy the personal attention to their accounts, the quick response to any service or maintenance issues, and the one-on-one meetings with their investment advisor.

When you buy or sell stocks from a broker, he makes his money on a fixed commission, and whether your stock goes up or down is immaterial to him or her. At Oakmont Investment Advisors, Inc., our income is based on the value of your portfolio, so it is important to us as well as to you that your investments continue to grow.

These days, most investment professionals work on straight commission. As a result, they only get paid when they make a buy or sale in a client’s account. As such, a stock broker has no income unless his clients buy and sell often, so his incentive is to encourage costly transactions.

Of course, many ethical brokers try to help their clients rather than pad their own wallets. Wouldn't you rather have a financial advisor whose incentives are the same as yours?

An independent money manager works for you. You pay an average 1.00% fee for their services, and your money manager invests according to your guidelines. We recommend the use of discount brokers and strive to negotiate the best deals possible. We don't benefit from transaction commissions, so our motivation is the same as yours - to find the best investments available, while keeping costs to a minimum. Because our income is directly related to the value of your account, our incentive is to make you money.

Fiduciary responsibility is the responsibility to manage property for the benefit of the client and to always put the client’s interest first. The broker typically has no such responsibility (unless he has taken de facto control of your account or has accepted the responsibility). Oakmont Investment Advisors, Inc. is legally obligated to provide this fiduciary responsibility by acting in a professional capacity of trust and exercising discretionary authority over assets.
